Today’s blog post is a bittersweet one for us to send. Yes, the headline is accurate… The Narrow Gate will be closing.
Over the last few years, we have focused on living a life of obedience by following God’s call wherever it leads. It has led us from North Carolina to Montana; away from jobs and people that had been in our lives for a long time; to people that stepped into our lives and enriched them so much; and to start a small business. So when 2 months ago, we felt Him telling us our time in Montana was coming to an end after only two short years, we were baffled and a little discouraged. But His plan is always better than ours and long story short, we have left Montana to pursue what He has put before us next. While we are excited about our next season, it is with sadness that we close our chapter in Montana.
After much prayer and discernment about the direction and future of the store, we have made the difficult decision to close. In full transparency, we moved to the mall to attempt to address the concerns we heard raised around the previous location and it’s lack of parking and hoping that the new location would bring awareness to more people. Sadly, our business since moving to the mall has slowed considerably, making it economically unfeasible to continue to run the store long distance.
We have poured a lot of our time, resources and heart into building a place that was warm and welcoming for the community and we hope that you have enjoyed your times with us. We were blessed to meet so many wonderful people over the last year and a half and we will miss those interactions terribly.
As we leave you, we want to say thank you. Thank you for welcoming us into your community and for your kind and encouraging words when you visited. And thank you for supporting our little labor of love.

Store Closing Details
Some special rules will apply during our closing sale:
- All sales are FINAL – no returns or exchanges
- Merchandise purchased prior to the sale is not subject to sale prices or price adjustments
- We will accept special orders until the end of September – sale discount applies only to items currently in stock, discount cannot be applied to special orders.
- Most furniture & fixtures are for sale. If you are interested in an item, please see Heidi for a price list.
Store hours effective immediately will be:
- Monday & Thursday 1-5
- Friday & Saturday 10-5
- Closed on Tuesday, Wednesday & Sunday
